Right now, I’m sitting in the living room, with the TV off, drinking a glass of wine, working on my laptop, and Sammi Jo on the couch next to me. Cleo is on the floor in front of the couch (farting), and Lexi and Molly are on the floor in front of the big screen. They're tired from chasing each other and tennis balls. All are asleep, and look like little angels to me. Sammi (the black one) is touching me with her head – it is her god-given right, and her twin sister Molly (the gold one) shares that opinion.
I love watching them sleep. What I love is their level of trust – they sleep peacefully because they know that “daddy” is here and taking care of them. In a few minutes, I’ll have to get up and let them outside. Then, they become “the herd” – four dogs running for the door, 16 paws, and really, it does sound like a herd. They will stay outside for awhile, until Lexi (with the white paws) comes to the back door and “knocks”…she has this cute way of pawing at the door and staring at me until I let her in. Cleo (pictured on the far right) will just wait patiently to be let in.
